Role Summary:
Ecobank Uganda is seeking an experienced System Developer to design, develop, and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance software solutions. The role involves providing technical leadership, contributing to system architecture, mentoring development teams, and driving innovation across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement scalable and secure software solutions.

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.

• Write, review, optimize, and maintain high-quality code.

• Provide technical leadership and mentor software engineers.

• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.

• Design and implement microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.

• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and development tools.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize development processes.

• Drive automation, testing improvements, and long-term system enhancements.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Master's degree is an added advantage.

• 5–8 years' hands-on experience in software development with a strong portfolio of completed projects.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.

• Experience with Spring Boot, Django, .NET, Angular, React, Kotlin, or Vue.js.

• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.

• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, or similar databases.

• Familiarity with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, and JMS Queue.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

• Experience with automated testing frameworks and debugging tools.
