Social Impact Manager
Pebuu
Pebuu is seeking a Social Impact Manager to lead its Social Impact function by identifying, measuring, and communicating the social value created through its operations.
The role will transform operational activities into structured community impact initiatives by building partnerships, mobilizing funding, managing implementation, and generating evidence of impact in areas such as financial inclusion, economic empowerment, employment creation, and sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Social Impact Strategy & Programme Development
Develop and implement Pebuu’s Social Impact Strategy aligned with business goals
Identify opportunities to generate and measure social value from operations
Design programmes supporting financial inclusion, youth and women empowerment, and sustainability
Develop annual work plans, budgets, and impact targets
2. Programme Implementation & Management
Lead implementation of social impact projects across operational areas
Coordinate cross-functional teams for effective programme delivery
Develop M&E frameworks to track outcomes and impact
Produce regular impact reports and dashboards
3. Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
Build partnerships with NGOs, donors, government, and private sector actors
Develop joint programmes that create shared value
Represent Pebuu in conferences, forums, and stakeholder engagements
4. Grant Fundraising & Resource Mobilization
Identify funding opportunities from donors and development partners
Lead grant writing, concept notes, and funding proposals
Manage donor relationships and reporting requirements
Develop sustainable funding strategies
5. Communications & Impact Reporting
Collaborate with communications teams to document impact
Develop case studies, newsletters, and impact stories
Produce annual social impact and sustainability reports
6. Innovation & Sustainability
Integrate social impact into core business operations
Lead environmental and sustainability initiatives (e.g., tree planting)
Monitor ESG trends and best practices
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Economics, Communications, International Development, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in social impact, CSR, sustainability, or development programmes
At least 3 years in a leadership role
Proven experience in partnership management and stakeholder engagement
Strong experience in grant writing and donor fundraising
Good understanding of M&E, ESG reporting, and impact measurement
Experience in fintech, financial inclusion, or related sectors is an added advantage
