Job Summary

The Senior Officer Strategy & Business Planning will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of corporate strategy by providing research, business analysis, performance measurement, and planning support. The role ensures alignment between strategic objectives, departmental plans, budgets, and performance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Analysis & Planning

• Assess internal and external organizational environments on an ongoing basis.

• Analyze industry, sector, and operational performance trends.

• Identify key drivers and assumptions to support corporate strategy.

Business Planning Support

• Coordinate development of tactical plans across departments.

• Ensure departmental plans align with:

  • Corporate strategy

  • Budget cycles

  • Internal management processes

  • External reporting requirements

• Support sustainable organizational performance.

Performance Measurement

• Design and implement performance measurement tools.

• Develop quality reporting systems for strategic planning.

• Support forecasting and action planning.

• Measure performance against strategic goals.

Reporting & Advisory

• Prepare strategic and business planning reports for internal and external stakeholders.

• Provide analytical reports on:

  • Budget alignment

  • Strategic planning

  • Operational plan development

• Offer technical advisory support to business units.

Sector & National Strategy Support

• Support development of sector and national strategies.

• Ensure alignment with UCC strategic and operational plans.

Additional Duties

• Perform any other duties assigned by the line supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s degree in:

  • Economics

  • Statistics

  • Business

  • Policy Analysis

  • Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Related field

• Bachelor’s degree in:

  • Economics

  • Statistics

  • Business

  • Development Planning

  • Related field

• Membership in a relevant professional body is an added advantage

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role

• Experience in the communications sector is an added advantage
