Job Summary

The Senior Manager – Technology Solutions will lead the design, development, and delivery of advanced Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) and wholesale technology solutions that support MTN Uganda’s strategic objectives in connectivity, infrastructure sharing, and digital transformation. The role ensures technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and innovation for enterprise, ISP, MVNO, and wholesale customers.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Architecture

• Develop scalable, secure, and innovative wholesale technology solutions.

• Ensure alignment with MTN Group standards and regulatory requirements.

• Support infrastructure sharing and national roaming frameworks.

Technology Strategy & Innovation

• Drive the NaaS roadmap and integration of emerging technologies.

• Lead transformation from traditional telecom services to advanced technology solutions.

• Identify automation and cost optimization opportunities.

• Benchmark services against global industry best practices.

Project Delivery & Governance

• Oversee end-to-end deployment of technology solutions.

• Ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.

• Implement governance frameworks for compliance and risk control.

• Manage project budgets, contracts, and reporting.

Commercial Support

• Approve technical initiatives and provide costing for complex solutions.

• Support proposal development and SLA management.

• Lead major client engagements for complex technical solutions.

Stakeholder Management

• Work with commercial teams to align technical capabilities with market needs.

• Build strong relationships with regulators, partners, and customers.

• Manage executive stakeholder relationships with technology providers.

Team Leadership

• Lead physical and virtual teams.

• Build a high-performance culture.

• Develop and retain technical talent.

• Promote collaboration and employee engagement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering.

• Master’s degree in Technology or Engineering is preferred.

• 8–10 years’ experience in telecom technology solutions.

• At least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Strong expertise in:

  • Network architecture

  • IP/MPLS

  • Cloud services

  • Wholesale connectivity

• Understanding of infrastructure-sharing models and regulatory frameworks.
