Job Summary
The Sales & Business Growth Executive is responsible for managing the full merchant lifecycle — from acquisition and onboarding to activation, retention, and revenue growth. The role ensures merchants are actively transacting and contributing to overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Acquisition & Sales
Identify and onboard high-potential merchants aligned to revenue targets.
Build and manage a structured sales pipeline.
Negotiate and close commercial agreements.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Market Research & Prospecting
Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and customer needs.
Prospect through field visits, networking, referrals, and partnerships.
Analyze competitor offerings and pricing.
Provide market insights to management.
Merchant Activation & Usage
Drive first transactions within 48–72 hours of onboarding.
Ensure complete merchant setup.
Convert inactive merchants into active users.
Track and improve activation rates.
Relationship Management & Retention
Manage and grow a portfolio of merchants.
Maintain regular engagement and follow-ups.
Act as the main point of contact for merchants.
Resolve issues through coordination with internal teams.
Revenue Growth & Expansion
Drive transaction value (TPV) per merchant.
Upsell and cross-sell relevant products and services.
Identify sector-based growth opportunities.
Increase merchant contribution to overall revenue.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
Maintain accurate CRM records and sales pipeline.
Provide weekly performance insights and reports.
Track activation, retention, and revenue metrics.
Collaboration & Teamwork
Work closely with product, operations, and marketing teams.
Escalate and resolve merchant-related issues.
Provide feedback on product improvements.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
2–3 years’ experience in sales, business development, or account management.
Experience in fintech, payments, telecommunications, or FMCG is an added advantage.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
