Research Coordinator

Job Summary
The Research Coordinator will provide technical oversight for research activities, manage project implementation, supervise field teams, and ensure research data accurately addresses project objectives. The role involves coordinating stakeholders, maintaining donor compliance, and supporting knowledge management for refugee and host community interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Implementation & Sustainability
Oversee project implementation in line with approved proposals and organizational policies.
Lead project planning, budgeting, and monitoring.
Manage financial cash flow planning and expenditure tracking.
Supervise project staff and volunteers.
Maintain coordination with donors and field stakeholders.
Ensure activities are implemented according to schedule.
Research Management
Coordinate multiple research assignments and ensure timely delivery.
Support development of research partnerships.
Lead internal and external research engagements.
Review qualitative and quantitative data collection tools.
Oversee translation and contextualization of research instruments.
Manage programming and deployment of digital data tools such as ODK.
Ensure compliance with research ethics and data protection standards.
Supervise field data collection and monitor data quality.
Community Engagement & Advocacy
Lead field-level coordination of activities.
Mobilize stakeholders for planning meetings and workshops.
Integrate project activities with government and partner programs.
Strengthen collaboration between schools and communities.
Stakeholder Engagement
Represent the organization in inter-agency forums.
Build relationships with partners and government institutions.
Coordinate with district authorities, OPM, UNHCR, and other stakeholders.
Serve as a liaison between project partners and technical teams.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare quarterly progress and activity reports.
Consolidate financial and narrative reports.
Support annual project reviews.
Manage knowledge systems and documentation.
Develop case studies, impact stories, and learning materials.
Facilitate reflection and learning sessions.
Child Protection & Wellbeing
Monitor child protection issues and report incidents.
Work with local leaders to promote child safety.
Sensitize communities on child rights.
Integrate child protection into project activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Experience in humanitarian or refugee response settings is preferred.
Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills.
Experience managing large-scale research projects in Uganda.
