The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a Finance Assistant to support finance operations by ensuring accurate bookkeeping, payment processing, cash management, financial reporting, and compliance with DRC financial procedures, donor regulations, and national legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record financial transactions and maintain accurate bookkeeping in DRC Dynamics.

• Prepare payment, receipt, and journal vouchers with complete supporting documentation.

• Maintain organized electronic and physical financial records.

• Manage petty cash, cash advances, bank transfers, and cash reconciliations.

• Process supplier, staff, statutory, and partner payments in compliance with DRC policies.

• Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.

• Prepare cash count reports and assist in financial reporting and reconciliations.

• Ensure compliance with DRC financial policies, donor requirements, and local legislation.

• Maintain complete audit trails and safeguard organizational assets.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.

• Minimum 2 years' experience in financial management within an international NGO or similar organization.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial management systems.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

• Knowledge of local languages spoken in West Nile is an added advantage.
