Job Summary

The Credit Analyst – Portfolio Performance is responsible for analyzing Retail Credit portfolio performance and providing data-driven insights, forecasts, and management information. The role supports decision-making across the credit lifecycle, including acquisition, exposure management, collections, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting (80%)

• Extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets related to credit portfolios.

• Generate monthly and ad-hoc management reports for Retail Credit teams.

• Analyze portfolio performance and forecast key credit metrics.

• Review borrower loan lists and product segmentation.

• Run portfolio performance tracking reports.

• Validate data integrity and perform cross-checks to ensure accuracy.

Forecasting & Modelling (20%)

• Analyze and interpret performance and application data related to credit risk.

• Support credit risk strategy development with data-driven insights.

• Contribute to improving decision support systems.

• Develop forecasting models and portfolio performance projections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in:

  • Commerce

  • Business Administration

  • Mathematics

  • Statistics

  • Economics

  • Or a related field

Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a financial institution.

Knowledge & Technical Skills

• Advanced MS Excel modelling skills (handling large datasets).

• Strong knowledge of IFRS standards.

• Experience in econometric modelling or risk forecasting.

• Understanding of credit risk, portfolio dynamics, and lifecycle management.

• Experience with data tools such as SAS and SQL.
