Communications Officer

Job Grade: HFB 5B
Job Purpose
Provide administrative and execution support for internal and external communication initiatives of the Bank across all media channels and digital platforms, while supporting effective stakeholder communications and reporting.
Key Result Areas
Provide first-level support and coordination for all the Bank’s communications with media houses, digital platforms, marketing and communications agencies, and other prospective marketing partners and suppliers.
Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, newsletters, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material that communicates the Bank’s activities, products, and services.
Plan, execute, and measure all digital marketing activities, including SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media, display advertising, and database campaigns.
Develop and coordinate internal communications plans to drive employee engagement and support change management initiatives.
Coordinate and execute public relations events, ESG initiatives, sponsorships, ensuring supplier coordination, media visibility, crowd management, and brand presence.
Liaise with business segment heads and managers to plan and implement communication strategies aligned with business growth objectives.
Prepare regular communication briefs on industry developments, financial services news, internal activities, and economic trends.
Coordinate documentation and follow-up for timely payment of media houses, communication agencies, and other vendors.
Develop basic graphic design and video content using available templates and equipment.
Prepare formal responses to sponsorship and donation requests submitted to the Bank.
Review advertising logs to ensure compliance with agreed contracts and report any discrepancies.
Maintain an updated database of media contacts, communication partners, reports, corporate publications, and communication assets.
Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager or the Head of Marketing & Communications.
Financial Responsibility
Responsible for tracking the Public Relations, ESG, Events, and Sponsorships budget lines.
Education & Training
Bachelor's Degree in:
Mass Communication
Marketing
Business Administration
Or any related field.
Professional certification in Digital Marketing, Public Relations, Corporate Communications, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience in marketing with a strong focus on Public Relations, Communications, and Media Management.
Excellent creative, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Ability to translate communication strategy into measurable performance objectives.
Good understanding of modern communications and digital marketing practices.
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator is an added advantage.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
