Role and Purpose
The Business Development Officer plays a key role in managing relationships between the company, distributors, and internal teams including operations, finance, and headquarters staff. The position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, strengthening distributor relationships, and supporting revenue growth by expanding the company’s market presence.
The role also ensures that distributor customer data remains accurate and up to date while supporting new business initiatives and achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Manage ongoing relationships with customers, distributors, and respective Sales Managers.
Collect and maintain accurate customer data records from distributors to ensure the call center has up-to-date information.
Research and identify new business opportunities including new markets, growth areas, customers, and partnerships.
Generate leads and cold-call prospective distributors.
Identify and engage appropriate contacts within organizations.
Convert leads into new business opportunities to increase the client base.
Provide KUZA-specific training to distributors and their staff to support customer conversion.
Support marketing activities when required.
Prepare accurate and timely management reports including customer preferences, trends, and market opportunities.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the company.
Conduct route accompaniments with distributor staff and support trade customer conversions.
Key Performance Indicators
Monthly number of accounts closed.
Collection of 2,000 customer data records monthly for the assigned portfolio.
Monthly home market data clean-up.

Academic Qualifications and Experience
University diploma or degree from a recognized institution.
Computer literacy.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Minimum 2–3 years of customer-facing experience in business development, B2B or B2C environments.
Background in sales and marketing is preferred.
Experience working with FMCG companies, financial institutions, or fintech companies is an added advantage.
