The 7th FITSPA Annual Fintech Conference 2025 wasn’t just about conversations, it was also a celebration of the real innovators building Africa’s digital future. The exhibition booths buzzed with energy as leading fintech companies, ecosystem partners, and regulators showcased technologies transforming financial inclusion and redefining how individuals and businesses interact with finance.
Showcasing the Power of Collaboration
From financial solutions to compliance innovations and digital infrastructure, the business showcases demonstrated how diverse players are working together to solve Africa’s most pressing challenges. Each exhibitor brought a unique perspective, whether it was enabling access, improving security, or streamlining service delivery. sumsub, a global identity verification provider, presented tools designed to help African fintechs stay compliant while scaling across borders. Their solutions highlighted how technology can simplify Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes, crucial for an industry where trust is the foundation of growth. FSD Uganda (FSDU) shared insights into their data-driven initiatives that support inclusive finance, especially for women, youth, and rural entrepreneurs. Through partnerships and evidence-based interventions, FSDU continues to shape a more inclusive financial ecosystem.
Enabling Infrastructure and Access
At the heart of the fintech movement is the infrastructure that powers it. CWG and Liquid Intelligent Technologies showcased cutting-edge digital infrastructure and enterprise solutions that enable fintech platforms to scale seamlessly. From cloud computing to secure connectivity, these technologies ensure the backbone of financial services remains strong, resilient, and efficient. Yo! Uganda drew crowds with their innovative payment integration solutions, demonstrating how their APIs help businesses of all sizes connect to mobile money and banking platforms effortlessly, the true essence of interoperability. The Agent Banking Company reminded attendees how agency networks remain vital in bridging the last-mile gap. Their systems have redefined access to cash and banking services across Uganda, illustrating that inclusion is as much about physical presence as it is about digital innovation.
Driving Inclusion and Innovation
M-KOPA, one of Africa’s leading fintech innovators, showcased their asset-financing model that leverages mobile money to enable customers to access smartphones, solar power, and more. Their presence reflected the growing importance of fintech in driving affordability and empowerment at the grassroots. Grant Thornton offered a different but equally critical perspective, professional services that support governance, auditing, and risk management in the financial technology space. Their participation emphasized the importance of sound business structures and compliance as fintechs scale.

MTN Uganda’s booth was a hive of activity, highlighting their fintech products, digital lifestyle solutions, and continued investment in mobile money as a key enabler of financial inclusion. MTN MoMo showcased its comprehensive suite of mobile financial solutions designed to drive digital payments and financial inclusion across Africa. Their presentation highlighted the MoMo App, which enables individuals to securely send and receive money, pay bills, save, and make purchases directly from their phones. For businesses, the MoMo Merchant App provides efficient tools to manage payments, streamline operations, and pay staff salaries, catering to both small and large enterprises. Additionally, MTN demonstrated the power of MoMo API Integration, allowing fintechs and digital platforms to embed MoMo’s payment solutions into their own services, expanding reach and accessibility. Through these offerings, MTN MoMo emphasized its commitment to enabling seamless, secure, and innovative financial services for individuals and businesses alike.

In addition to the business showcases, the 7th FITSPA Annual Fintech Conference 2025 brought together an impressive lineup of exhibitors who showcased the depth, diversity, and innovation within Uganda’s fintech ecosystem. These included Liquid Intelligent Technologies, BPC, gnuGrid, Centenary Bank, sumsub, Stanbic Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, UNCDF, M-KOPA, PawaPay, Interswitch, MTN Uganda, Yo! The exhibition was more than a display, it was a meeting point for ideas, partnerships, and opportunities.
