About the Event

The Financial Technologies Service Providers Association (FITSPA) in partnership with Uganda Bankers Association (UBA) bring you the FITSPA Fintech Symposium, a platform for stakeholders in the financial services sector to discuss the implementation of the National Payment Systems Act 2020. The FITSPA Fintech Symposium is scheduled for Wednesday 16th September 11am to 1pm and will be broadcast both on NTV and online."

The National Payment Systems bill was enacted on 29th July 2020 and its expected to deliver on the following mandate:

Regulate payment systems

Provide for the safety and efficiency of payment systems

Provide for the functions of Central Bank in relation to payment systems,

Prescribe the rules governing the oversight and protection of payment systems

Provide for financial collateral arrangements

Regulate payments to service providers

Regulate issuance of electronic money

and provide for the oversight of payment instruments amongst other deliverables.
