The Financial Technology Service Providers Association (FITSPA) is a leading industry association representing fintech companies in Uganda. Established in 2017, FITSPA aims to promote the growth and development of the fintech sector, foster collaboration among industry stakeholders, and advocate for policies conducive to innovation and financial inclusion.
Background to the Study
FITSPA commissioned a study on the state of Uganda’s Fintech Industry in February 2022 to assess the current landscape, identify challenges, and explore opportunities for growth. The findings of this study have provided valuable insights into the sector. To build on this foundation, FITSPA intends to commission a follow-up study to further examine the evolving dynamics of the fintech industry in Uganda.
Scope of Work
The scope of the study shall include, but not be limited to:
- Analysis of the regulatory environment impacting the fintech sector in Uganda.
- Examination of key trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the fintech industry.
- Assessment of the impact of technological advancements on financial services delivery.
- Evaluation of the role of fintech in promoting financial inclusion and economic development.
- Identification of emerging business models and innovative solutions in the fintech space.
- Comparative analysis of Uganda’s fintech ecosystem with regional and global trends.
Expected Outputs and Deliverables
- Comprehensive report detailing the findings of the study.
- Executive summary highlighting key insights and recommendations.
- Presentation of findings to FITSPA stakeholders.
- Infographics or visual aids summarizing key data points and trends.
- Qualification, Skills, and Experience of the Consultant
- Proven track record in conducting research and analysis in the fintech or financial services sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory analysis and policy formulation.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills.
- Experience working with industry associations or similar organizations.
- Familiarity with the Ugandan financial regulatory landscape and fintech ecosystem.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to deliver high-quality reports within specified timelines.
Evaluation and Selection Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Relevant experience and expertise of the consulting firm or individual consultant.
- Methodological approach and research methodology proposed.
- Clarity and feasibility of the proposed work plan and timeline.
- Understanding of the objectives and scope of the study.
- Cost-effectiveness and budget allocation.
- References and past performance on similar projects.
Submission Guidelines
Interested consultants or consulting firms are invited to submit their proposals by 5.00 p.m. Monday, March 18th, 2024. Proposals will be sent via email to info@fitspa.ug. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered for evaluation.
Proposals should include a detailed methodology, work plan, budget breakdown, CVs of key personnel, and at least 2 samples of past similar work.
