Head of Finance

Xente, a leading fintech company specializing in innovative payments and financial operations software for business and corporate clients is looking for a head of Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including accurate bookkeeping, financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and presenting financial insights to the board. This is a pivotal role that requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance and understand or willing to grow a career in the fintech industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the company’s financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping and financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies.
• Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s business objectives and drive growth.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies.
• Prepare and present financial reports and insights to the management team and board of directors, facilitating informed decision-making.
• Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and analysis for various projects and initiatives.
• Oversee the company’s tax planning and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to local and international tax laws.
• Monitor financial performance, identify trends and risks, and recommend actions to improve financial health and sustainability.
• Manage relationships with financial institutions, investors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies that support business growth and sustainability.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing high-performing finance teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-finance stakeholders.
• Proficiency in financial software and systems, as well as advanced Excel skills.
