Sophie Nyombi is a lawyer in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) space in Uganda with over 10 years of experience in legal practice. She is a Senior Associate at AF Mpanga Advocates (Bowmans Uganda); a renowned leading top-tier Corporate and Commercial Law firm in Uganda. 

She is involved in the firm’s TMT and Data Protection practice where she advises the world’s leading technology companies on legal and regulatory aspects. She also advises various fintech companies in Uganda on regulatory matters.

Prior to joining Bowmans, Sophie was a Legal Research Assistant at the High Court of Uganda (Commercial Division) where she directly assisted Hon. Justice Geoffrey Kiryabwire, currently a Justice of the Court of Appeal. 

Sophie is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society. 

Her practice extends to banking & finance, mergers and acquisitions, company secretarial, regulatory advice and occasionally handles litigation for key clients.

Sophie holds an LLB (Hons) degree from the prestigious Makerere University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.
