I am a Chair, Non-Executive Director, Committee Chair and Board Audit and Risk Committee Member with fifteen years board level experience with particular experience in the Fintech, Banking, Multimedia, Manufacturing and Oil & Gas industries.
At board level, I drive business growth through digital transformation. I do that by leveraging my extensive IT governance, risk and compliance, strategy, change management, operational accountability and policy-making skills. Board highlights include: Chair of the Financial Technology Service Provider Association of Uganda; Non-Executive Director of United Bank for Africa where I Chair the Credit Committee; Member of the Board Risk and Audit Committee of Vision Group; Non-Executive Director of the Uganda Manufacturers Association, where I Chaired the Research, Technology and Innovation Committee.
In an executive capacity, I am currently the Cofounder and Director of LumJo Consultants, a 20-year old company in a niche market of software development and financial integration services for clients within Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, Legal, and Non-profit sectors. Here I provide strategic direction and oversight on policy, security, risk, audits, company business reviews and new business. I have led IT programs at leading institutions including Tullow Oil, Barclays Bank Uganda, Equity Bank Uganda, Posta Uganda, Africa Online, UN World Food Programme and the Central Bank of Uganda.
I have governance certificates in: Company Direction from the Institute of Directors London; Corporate Governance Best Practice from the Global Governance Group; and Board Competence from the Norwegian Enterprise Confederation. I also hold an IT governance qualification in COBIT from ICASA, an MBA from the University of South Wales, an MSc in Advanced Computing from Imperial College London, and PRINCE2 and ITIL certificates.
As a dedicated advocate for women and girls in STEM, I serve as a Project Girls for Girls mentor. I support projects which give access to education and opportunities as a Member of the Alumni Advisory Panel of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and as the Project Manager of JET Schools connectivity project. In my spare time I write poetry, I recently published my first book of poetry.
